Headshots for Heroes
Since sending out our first newsletter, many people have asked how they can donate to Headshots for Heroes, in order to continue to grow our project. First of all, thank you so much for sharing this passion with me, and for your generosity. I have set up a link on my Military page: https://www.meghanhomaphotography.com/military to make the donation process even easier. Upon donation, I will send you information about the number of Veterans you have supported, and keep you abr

Dedication of the Dulaney Valley Bridge
"A true hero is not measured by the size of his strength, but by the strength of his heart." On the 9th anniversary of CPL. Christopher Coffland's death in Afghanistan, family and friends gathered to celebrate the dedication of the Loch Raven Bridge in his memory. His memory lives on in the Catch A Lift Fund and in all of the lives this organization is changing. To read more about Chris's life and legacy, or to get more involved with CAL, please check out their website: https

Warrior Fit Weekend with Catch A Lift Fund
This is the true meaning of life. It's not about money or material items. It's about getting up each day with the determination to beat your personal best from the day before. To prove to yourself and everyone else that you can do what you've been told you cannot do. To be the best version of yourself each day. And believing you will succeed. This weekend changed lives of so many people, myself included. My heart grew exponentially, and my motivation to get out there and do s

Honoring our Veterans with Catch A Lift Fund
I had the privilege of meeting with Lynn Coffland of Catch A Lift Fund today, and meeting her incredible team. The mission of the Catch A Lift Fund is to provide fitness and nutrition resources for our Veterans, in order for them to reach their highest potential, as well as properly heal from combat. They have 1,500 gyms across the United States participating in their program, and have almost 3,000 Veterans currently in their program. The work they're doing to reach more Vete

Supporting our Veterans
So many of the Veterans I have had the privilege of photographing have suffered from PTSD and, before getting the necessary treatment, tried silencing the symptoms and pretending they weren't there. This is one of the many reasons for my project with Veterans and why I wanted to help their transition period. This is also one of the many reasons why we need to support and help those who have put their lives on the line for our country, and support their adjustment from active

"It's All About the Hustle" and our Veterans
When I started this project for Veterans in May, I had no idea that it would take off like it has. No idea that we would receive media attention, and certainly NO idea that I would be on the news. Those who know me well, know that I am most comfortable behind the camera...not in front of the lens...not being interviewed...not on TV. When my family and I wrote our Summer Bucket List, one of the items was "go out of your comfort zone". I kept that in mind when working on this p

Welcoming our Troops Home <3
We have been so fortunate since starting this project with our Veterans, and it has opened so many more doors than I ever thought possible. We have had the opportunity to meet with amazing Veterans and their families, and are getting to meet with organizations and people who work tirelessly with helping Veterans adjust to life after combat. Last week, I had the privilege of speaking with Ashley Horner of The Hire Group (https://www.thgroupllc.org). The part of her LinkedIn me

Photography for Veterans
Thank you Hilary Lane and WUSA9 for capturing the heart of this project, and Joshua Anderson for your service. It truly was an honor working with both of you. Thank you to those who have shared our project and story. For as many contacts that I have made and emails that have been sent, the support and attention has been a hundred times what we could have expected. Please continue sharing the story so we can help more Veterans and raise more money to help our injured Vets. As

United States Marine Corps Veteran turned Entrepreneur
Besides being a mother, this project with our Veterans has been the most rewarding thing I have ever done in my life. It has motivated me to go out of my comfort zone (WAY out of my comfort zone), and ask for things that I believe will reach more people, gain more awareness, and support more Veterans. By asking family and friends to spread the word, swallowing my insecurities and going out of my comfort zone, and staying focused on the goal of this project, I have had the pri
