"It's All About the Hustle" and our Veterans

When I started this project for Veterans in May, I had no idea that it would take off like it has. No idea that we would receive media attention, and certainly NO idea that I would be on the news.

Those who know me well, know that I am most comfortable behind the camera...not in front of the lens...not being interviewed...not on TV.

When my family and I wrote our Summer Bucket List, one of the items was "go out of your comfort zone". I kept that in mind when working on this project. I wanted this project to be successful and I wanted to reach as many Veterans as possible.

I emailed and called people I wouldn't normally contact asking for help and support. I looked up and emailed every Veteran organization in Maryland and DC. And I emailed the news organizations.

Little did I know I would receive an email from @meganpringlewbal at @wbaltv11 saying she loved the project and would like to do a story on it. Then @wusa9 called, then @tweetiepiecollage at @marylandpublictv....! If nothing had come out of it, I would have known in my heart that I gave it my all. But this has been a dream come true. There are some big things coming our way, and I am so excited for what lies ahead. Go out of your comfort zone and push the limits. Hard work pays off. Persistence pays off. You'll never know how far you can go if you don't try.
